We're excited to have Ellen Burns-Johnson, Mark LaCroix, and Stephen McGregor on the show for a roundtable discussion, but in the meantime, we're sharing episode 249 of their show from February which discusses how "free" games (like those given away on Epic and bundled with GamePass) are affecting the industry.
On its face, this is a fantastic value for players and a great safeguard for developers against the volatility of the market. But longterm, does this model "devalue" the work of game devs and the cultural impact of a given game?
